Auckland, New Zealand — 27 January— Language Circle announced its official launch as a national organisation dedicated to supporting educators, school leaders, and kaiako to build research-based, inclusive, future-focused language learning programmes across Aotearoa New Zealand. The organisation specialises in high-quality professional learning and development (PLD) that strengthens language pedagogy across te reo Māori, New Zealand Sign Language, and Pacific, Asian, and European languages.
Language Circle brings together an experienced team of facilitators and language advisors to deliver research-informed, classroom-ready support through inspiring workshops, year-long programmes, cultural immersions, in-school and online learning, and vibrant networks of practice. The organisation partners closely with schools, education leaders, governments, and donors to develop sustainable language programmes, improve student outcomes, and make languages visible across schools and communities.
“Language Circle exists to help educators feel confident and supported as they navigate increasingly multilingual and multicultural classrooms,” said Stephanie Mortimore, Programme Director and Co-founder of Language Circle. “We believe every language carries stories of identity, connection, and heritage. Our role is to equip teachers and schools with the pedagogy, tools, and community they need to celebrate those stories and create inclusive learning environments where all learners can thrive.”
Yvonne Lim, Director and Co-founder of Language Circle, added: “Aotearoa’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Language Circle brings together local context and global evidence-based, best practice to deliver professional learning that has lasting, system-level impact. We’re proud to work alongside schools and partners who share our commitment to equity, quality, and meaningful cultural exchange.”
With a focus on collaboration, curiosity, and integrity, Language Circle is positioned as a responsive and credible partner for the education sector, offering tailored PLD solutions that support professional growth and long-term outcomes for learners nationwide.
Educators and education partners are invited to follow Language Circle and join a growing community shaping a more inclusive, confident, and culturally rich future for language learning in New Zealand.
